Default Default Problem with adding themes and wallpapers to my 9700

Please Login to Remove!

I just got my new Bold 9700. I'm all new to this so please bare with me. I've read the "101" tutorials for installing new themes and for adding wallpaper, but for some some reason I can't see pictures from folders I've added to my 9700, and also whenever I download a theme theme file and unzip it, I always see a JAD file and never this alx file that I have to add to my 9700 in order to use this theme.

Am I doing something wrong here, or I just missed something and have been chasing my tail(looks like it)?

Regarding the image files. Key questions are, How are you putting the files on the 9700 and where? And, How are you then trying to navigate to the files and view or open them?

About the themes, it has been a long time for me, and I wasn't even much on themes at the time. Still, I would wonder if the problem is just the source or originator of the theme. Maybe the problem isn't you. But it does sound like you have tried a number of themes. With that, the next question is whether they have all been from the same source, or different sources.

If you are concluding the problem is you somehow, my advice is start over at squeeze one and repeat and pay closer attention to every step. What is the unzip utility set to do, where does it save the extracted files, etc. Use the computers file search feature to search, and include hidden files in the search.

Some added ideas

Themes created for or used with BlackBerry® Device Software 5.0 do not load or appear on BlackBerry® Device Software 6.0
