This is probably both a bit odd and a long shot but...

We have one of our upper mgmt. folk taking a 6 month leave and traveling to Rwanda.

She currently is on a Verizon device, but after speaking to Verizon's Global Support folk, it appears they have pretty much zero coverage to most of the country.

Her line/contract is expired, so we can transfer her to another carrier - we also use T-Mobile, and checking their coverage map they appear to have way better coverage there than Verizon.

Anyone here ever travel to Rwanda and have experience w/ using (or attempting to use) a BB over there? Wondering if there's any hope of coverage/signal there.

I was in Rwanda about a year ago. I used T-Mobile while I was there on a Blackberry pearl. It worked fairly well in most metro areas, but my roaming rates were pretty outrageous. Luckily i was only there for about 2 weeks. Other thing I noticed is the data was pretty slow. I hope she has plenty of patience.
