Does it use your existing subscription, or is there another monthly fee?

It's a dialed-down (pun intended) version, so it will likely be a separate fee.

Looks like you have to commit to $8.99 per month to even download the player!

***Pizzle EDIT - Content***

what's interesting about this is that the Boy Genius has reported that cingular pushed an icon for XM onto his 8320, and he was able to access it without subscribing I can only assume...

(PIZZLE) jungleland, you can keep your opinions to yourself if you have nothing nice to say about other members here.

Seems kind of expensive if you are already a subscriber...

$8.99 for 25 channels??? Nah....

Great to hear! Could someone give some more details on how it works?

1. Do you need to add more subscriptions like Cingular Media Net service in addition to the current BB plan we have?

2. How do you listen to them? Do you dial in? or through internet?

Thanks!

Wait a minute - I thought the EDGE network is too slow to keep a nice streaming audio thing going? Has this changed? I need someone to guinea pig this for us all please!

I've been listening to all channels of XM and Sirius as well as streaming Slingbox on my backup phone - MotoQ which I pay $30/mo for 500 minutes and unlimited EVDO via the Sprint SERO plan.

Last I checked the Moto Q was $99 via Sprint.

Not a bad alternative for anyone looking for access to higher speed and more apps to run. The XM and Sirius do not carry any additional fee (however they are only available on Windows Mobile).

Just to be clear, I actually did have to pay the monthly fee...was able to download it for free though, and preview the channels, that worked. The icon was also pushed to my handset OTA as a service book, MusicID also works on the 8300 now!

I can connect and signon to Sirius.com's mediaplayer using the Microsoft IE browser on the BB 8800, however, once signed in, the mediaplayer doesn't display anything, so I can't select a channel to listen to. If someone has a solution, please let me know.

Thanks,
Scott
