Default Don't like my HS810, thinking Jabra250

Please Login to Remove!

I got my Hs810, and it sounds okay, but I find it's quite loose, if I lean back/sideways it flaps far away from my face. The thing is, I'm not sure if that's normal for a BT headset or not. How tightly should a BT headset fit?

Also, do you guys find that even with max volume for headset + max volume on BT headset it's still quiet? I use a callzone and it makes the phone line extremely quiet and it's almost impossible to hear sometimes. ARGH!

I've read that the jabra model fits much tighter to the ear and is more comfortable.. but maybe I'm just expecting too much.. it'd be nice to do a flip and have it still snug against my ear type deal.

so, all opinions welcome!

Default All you can do is try them

I stuck with the 810 cause I like the flip open is on/off. The Logitech Mobile gets good reviews. There is a thread from barjohn rating various models looking for the best of all features. You aren't supposed to being doing jumping jacks wearing the BT. I use it in hotel rooms, cars and home and like it alot.

It totally depends on your head I find the 810 is great. If oyu want one that really "hangs on", try the Logitech bluetooth headset (not the Mobile one, their first bt headset). It clips to your ear from behind. I use that in the house and can move all over, lay down, etc and it doesn't move. I found the Jabra 250 fell off my ear at the slightest head turn.

The volume is OK (very subjective of course). I understand the bt volume isn't great, especially if you are on OS 4.0. But my "ok" might be your "too low".

Oh wow, that's interesting to know because I haven't fonnd any reviews saying that the Jabra is loose but Motorola does have quite a few.

Do you know if they have any intention of increasing the volume or is it simply not possible? It seems like a major fault to me that could be very easily corrected.

I have the Jabra BT250 and it never comes close to falling off or even feeling like it is going to. The small ear gel that comes on it was too small so I put the larger one on and it fits a lot nicer. As long as you have the right ear gel for your ear, it's nice and snug and yet comfortable.

I'm a little annoyed with the volume legels available on the phone as well. I don't even like using it as a regular phone anymore. I use the headset all the time as I am able to hear much clearer and I've gotten awfully used to having both hands free.

I don't think I'd be able to use the phone without a headset after having used one because the volume is much better. I really hope they'll change it with the new software but I doubt it.

I really wish I could find somewhere to try the Jabra model. I can't find any stores in Toronto area that would let me buy something and return it. Radioshack wouldn't even let me try/return Motorola version because they thought it goes in my ear.

Are there no "Best Buy" stores around there? I don't know about Canada but I know they're all over the US. I picked mine up at Best Buy and it's pretty easy to return things there if you aren't satisfied.

Hey dougdoug,
Try The Telephone Booth. They are located in most major malls in the GTA. I went to one in Hamilton and they have several models that they will allow you to try. Hope this helps.

Thanks for that. I knew the Bestbuy US had them but in Canada we never get the same good products. I just looked and it appears they DO have the Jabra 250, so I will go try it out if the store near me has it. I checked futureshop and they did not have it so I just assumed BB wouldn't either.

Thanks also denaliman, I didn't think TB would allow me to try things on but I'll check out that store too!

I love the 250 and it can be found on the web for about 65 USD and free shipping.

Oh, anywhere on the web it can be foudn for $65 USB including free shipping to Canada? It's $170 at the local bestbuy haha.

I've tried looking at the BT250 and BT250v and the prices seem to be the same with the only difference being one vibrates?

I had the Moto HS-850 and returned it. Fit very loose and felt like it always going to fall off. I also found lots of crackling and volume too low. Bought the BT250 and it is the perfect fit for me! Couldn't be more comfortable and fits sung. So natural I forget it is on my head sometimes. Also, sound quality is much better than the Moto for my 7290. Good luck.
