Default blackberry classic problems

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all, new here!
I've had a blackberry classic for almost 18 months and I've had some issues lately.

My wife sent me a text message from her iphone the other day and when I tap to open it, it opens a "compose text message screen" where you have to type in the recipients name etc. Our entire text thread is gone! I thought maybe if I just typed her name in the box and started to send a new message the old thread would populate, nope. The problem text still shows as unread and I can read the first line of her text in the hub screen like normal, but every time I try to open it, it does the same "compose text" thing and never marks it as "read". I've tried restarted the phone several times and refreshing the hub, nothing has worked.

Any help would be appreciated.

Default Re: blackberry classic problems

I would suggest it may be a recently added or upgraded App may be causing the interference or caused some corruption. If you have a backup of the phone or if not make one using the free program from Blackberry called LINK and then do a wip of the phone causing the phone to revert back to factory.
Once back to factory levels test the phone for the basic operation such as calls, text and data. you will need to manually add back some of the contacts and user data such as email user data.
Once your sure the phone works like before, you can use the backup data to reload the phone. DO NOT reload any apps you may have added. Once you check again then load Apps you added one at a time to see if one is causing the problem.

The general use of texting should work as before on all cell phones.
It is highly unlikely Verizon made changes causing this change.

An associate of mine also has a Verizon Z30 phone and it works as expected. All text messages are shown and flow as you want.
