Default multiple messages sent to handheld; replies bounce too

here's one for the books.... hope someone has seen this

i get anywhere from 1 to 6 copies of every message sent to my bberry. also, almost every reply where i reply with text gets rejected with "cannot find original message on desktop" and when i resend it, it goes through.

tried 3 different handhelds and same prob

this is all on a bes server

This wouldn't happen to be a groupwise BES beta would it? I have the same problems with the connector crashing. Per RIM and troubleshooting, I lowered the connection threads from 10 to 1 in the sql database and this helped alleviate a LOT of duplicate message problems.

What happens with groupwise is it will crash on a users account (usually a gwcheck on their mailbox will fix whatever is crashing the connector, but you don't find out something is wrong until it starts crashing). But it will crash and restart every 5 minutes. Whatever it was doing when it crashed will be repeated when it starts up again until the problem is fixed or eventually ignored and passed by. I've seen as many as 6 or 7 duplicate sent emails (only from a blackberry, not desktop) at a time when this is happening. It is a known problem that RIM is working to fix.

it's actually an exchange bes server... but the problem started happening after a crash.

could be the same deal, yet an exchange version of the problem?

btw... replies now work fine, just email dupes to deal with. and they're consistently 2 messages (used to be anywhere from 2-6 dupes).

where are the other 3 replies? i see just yours and the forum lists 4 replies.

There aren't any. They are still working on the SQL database and getting the bugs out of it from the crash.

Have you tried contacting RIM about this? And is this 3.6 or 4.0 BES?
