Edit: More importantly, you cannot use the 4.1 themes on the 7105t. The 7105t has 4.0.2 software and the 4.1 themes will not work!

So at the risk of beating a dead horse....if you have a 7100t/7105t you are only able to install the O2/Vodaphone/Orange themes??

No you cannot move the folders or the apps from one level to the next. The most you can do is move the icons within one level or hide icons you do not use often.

I'm guessing i did something wrong.... i downloaded pretty much every single one of them, and then when i accessed the Default (large icon) theme, i suddenly couldn't go back to many of my others. Whenever i try to access them it goes to the desktop and says "uncaught exception: javalangillegalarArgumentException". Right now the only themes that work for me are Default (small icon), Default (large icon), Orange, and Vodafone. The ones that don't work are Default (list), BB Insight-Icon [while trying to fix stuff on my own i ended up deleting the icon version], Flexicon, T-Mobile, Verizon, and a second Vodafone that i have downloaded. I'm on a mac so at the moment i can't just restore the software... any help would be greatly appreciated, i can handle using the default theme for now but am interested in going back to the BB Insight theme

EDIT - forgot to mention, i'm on a 7130e blackberry with Verizon...

I found a post on PinStack about DL'ing the HK CSL 4.1.210 SW to get 4.1 on my 7105t (I put this in this thread since I don't want to attract too much attention - and just want 4.1 with the themes in this thread)

I forgot the correct BB Site link for the SW but I was able to DL:

7100M_PBrER4[1].1.0_rel210_PL1.8.0.143_A4.1.0.256_CSL.exe

Then I uninstalled all my existing 4.0.2 SW, 4.1 Desktop SW, did a javaloader -usb wipe, and deleted C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion (use with care since you'll have to completely re-Activate the device).

When I installed the above, I got no luck in recognizing the 7105t as a 4.1 candidate until I went into the Vendor.xml file in:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

and went down to the CSL section:

<vendor id="0x8D" Name="CSL">

and copied the 4.1.210 lines up to the T-Mobile USA section (it's at the top):

<vendor id="0x64" Name="T-Mobile US">

The <bundle> </bundle> statement seems to specify which device id's can load what SW.

Then, you HAVE TO copy the HW ID codes from the 4.0.2.82 <bundle></bundle> statement, into the 4.1.0.210 statement you just copied from the CSL section below to get something like this:

<bundle id="System" version="4.1.0.210">
<devicehwid>0x9c000503 0x94000903</devicehwid>
</bundle>

Then, VOILA! 4.1 loaded no problem...

The funny part: The 4.0.2 T-Mob theme is THERE!

Now the interesting part: If I load the 4.1 version of the themes in this thread, they don't work at all. Seems they're from a 4.1.139 build (or something like that).

Of course, I don't have my USB cable at home here, but I'm going to try the mod for the BlackBerry.alx file described before as all the theme files are in my Shared\Loader directory with all the other 4.1 files.

Hopefully, that'll do the trick.

Good luck all...

Hey Jibi,

I'm new to the forum... actually new to blackberry all together. I just received my 7100g in the mail today and was just playing around with your set of ringtones (alx install) I downloaded and installed the 8 themes you have seemingly fine. When the 7100 rebooted the theme that was on the screen was a pretty small icon based theme different from the Default List and the menu text items were all out of whack. I found my way into the Options - Themes where I saw the 8 themes listed. The only themes I was able to activate were the default 7290 themes (both small and large icons) the others only gave the options of Hide Menu or Close. So I uninstalled all of the themes... 7100 rebooted and I still have the strange looking black and white icon based theme set... so I just reladed the 7290 themes and have them currently.

I'm just curious why this happened and how I can get the default theme back on it at least to fall back on.

I'm not going to be using the blackberry service, the handheld will merely be for phone use and as a PDA. THANKS

Update: The theme was on none(Active) and the handheld is running 4.0.0.219 OS

Has anyone had this one before?

I loaded up the Orange theme onto my TMO 7290. It seems to work fine until I hit <alt><click wheel> trying to manipulate hidden icons and I get a java error / reset. I then had to click the wheel to reset the BB (the only choice?). I switched back to the default TMO theme and <alt><click wheel> works fine.

Anyone has any solution to this?

I would like to design my own themes. I´ve found a tool called plazmic,
but the themes developed with it only work with 4.1 OS. Do yoy know any
other tool wich themes works on 4.0 OS?

Thanks!

dequin...you have to have 4.1 to work with Palzmic. You're out of luck for 4.0...there are no tools for you to use.

I don't know if somehow I broke convention but I do have these working on a 7520 under os 4.1. I was under the assumption that these would only work on 4.0

I don't think I did much of anything special, I loaded the pixelistic one OTA through the options menu. I then installed the plazmic reader and a theme I made in the editor. Then just to see what would happen, I loaded the ALX version of all of the themes. One thing I noticed when I had them in application loader was the action listed for default small icons was downgrade. I checked it, as well as the rest of the themes, installed it and all went off without a hitch.

My original goal was actually to try and get the orange theme into the plazmic editor. I really really like the sub catagories as well as the vertical orientation of the battery/signal bars. Unfortually I was unable to do this and I am sick and tired of skinning the same old layout. I downloaded their pixelistic one on the phone but I am trying to extract that onto the PC in hopes that it can be loaded into the editor. I tried going to mobile.blackberry.com/themes but it kicks back that you need to be on a BB with v4.1. I would like to try and get a link to the actual file itself. Hopefully it is some other format aside from COD which is not editable. I know a little about programming but nothing to the point where I could decompile such a file and then bring it into the editor.

I have a 7130e, just got it last week. I was trying to find a way to have all my themes I downloaded in one tree. When I go to the Application loader there is not a menu tab available for the Blackberry themes.
