Hi All.
We are using the Enterprise Service Policy to prevent any Non-blackberry devices from activating on the BES (our corporate policy).
Assuming that all our users activate wirelessly, how will the BES know to allow a new model device to connect?

eg. One of our offices plan to purchase 8120 models and the 8120 is in the "Model" list, but not ticked to allow it to connect. How did it appear on the BES? We don't have any 8120 devices on the BES yet.

I would hazard that the Blackberry can identify itself as a bona-fide Blackberry through some other means than the model number. Else what's to stop a third-party device mfr calling their device "8210" (apart from legal issues) which would, presumeably, allow the device to activate successfully.

It comes from the device.xml file. It lists all of the valid BlackBerry models.
