Default Can't update OS on Storm

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys,

Just got my new unlocked Storm yesterday. First thing I want to do is update the OS from the default .75 to the new hybrid .114. Only problem is, it doesn't recognize it being installed. I've deleted the Vendor.xml file in the App Loader folder, but still a no-go. It only sees the .75 and says there is nothing to update. Here are the steps I took:

1. Installed the 4.7 DM
2. Installed the .75 OS from Verizon
3. Installed the .114 OS
4. Copied all the files from the Hybrid 114 folder to the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9530-v4.7.0.114_P4.0.0.143 folder and overwrote the existing files
5. Deleted the Vendor.xml file in the AppLoader file
6. Ran the Loader.exe file in the AppLoader folder.

No updates found. Any ideas or recommendations?

Thanks.

I would search your entire hard drive for any instances of vendor.xml and delete them.

tried that too. Only one vendor.xml existed and I deleted it. Any other suggestions?

You have to uninstall any other OS(s) that is on your hard drive besides the hybrid.

Uninstall any previous OS and install the new one and restart your phone.

Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel.
