I thought this phone was coming with the blackberry desktop manager for mac! so what happened? I've just bought one and it came with the introduction, but no desktop manager here though...
am I the only one? is there any other 8520 user who has desktop manager on mac? or do we have to wait all together until this somewhere-in-september release??

We wait.

Unfortunately, neither of the native Mac alternatives work properly. The freebie download from Blackberry loses calendar appointments and contacts. The purchased one (Missing Sync) overwrites data with its more limited version -- for example, if you complete some tasks, MissingSync will overwrite the Mac's completed date with a blank because it doesn't understand completion dates; it does the same for multiple e-mail addresses and phone numbers too.

You can run the PC application under a virtual machine -- but it only seems to understand Outlook not the Mac calendar, address book or tasks.

So we wait (in frustration).

Please look in the Mac User's Corner for more info.

The Mac DM should be out sometime in September (that has been the release date for a while now.) The reviews I have read point to a decent product.

I use PocketMac on my MacBook Pro and have no issues. But then I use GoogleCalendar sync to hook up Lightning with the BB.
