Question DesktopMgr Backup Errors

Please Login to Remove!

Im getting an error message when backing up my BB using the BB Desktop Manager software.

The backup completes 'apparently' succesfully but near the end of the backup an error message appears saying:

"Error backing up Database(s).
[Profiles] 3 of 5 entries retrieved."

Does anyone know why I might be recieving this error and how I can correct it please?

Well, upon looking for a solution I noticed there was an update available for my phone via the Desktop Manager and once I'd completed the update, the issue was fixed.

However, if anyone else should have this error and an update is not available, I also found this page: "Error backing up database" message appears when backing up BlackBerry smartphone using BlackBerry Desktop Manager

I spoke too soon, this error has returned.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I would use advanced backup/restore in desktop manager to clear your profiles database on the device, then recreate your profiles manually.

Don't restore from a backup. Or, if you do, use a selective restore from an old backup from before you had problems. If you do restore from an old backup and still have problems, then clear again, and manually setup your profiles again.

I'm having the same problem. I've cleared the Profiles DB, but the database error still occurs. In the window it shows Map Locations (I have cleared this also) before the error occurs.
My device is a BB 8310, v4.5.081(Platform 2.7.0.78).
