I dunno. Just not receiving any texts on my new 9700. Is there a setting I'm missing?

1. Pull the battery.
2. I noticed that you have 8800 in your profile. Is the SIM card in the 9700 from the 8800? You might need a newer SIM card.

Or you may need to check with your provider to make sure it's properly provisioned.

My 9700 SIM card is from my 8800. They did send me another SIM card with the 9700 but it was not provisioned. Is there a way that they can provision it without me needing to go to an at&t store? Based on a few posts that I've read, I believe I will have much better performance If I had a newer card in my 9700.

1 last thing.

In Option> SMS Text ... check Data Coding: 7-bit/UCS2 ... should be on 7-Bit since you're on AT&T (or north america for that matter). Most providers here do not support those UCS2 special characters.

Most likely as said above, SMS is not provisioned on your account. Call the carrier and have it added.
