Default 8703e and RIMOS 4.2

Does anyone know if a 4.2 OS is in the works for the 8703e? I've seen alot of software that has added capabilities for OS 4.2, but I see the latest listed for the 8703e is 4.1...

4.2 is not out for the 8703e yet.

That all depends on the carriers. They decide when to release. I believe its in the works, just not known when it will be released.

You would be able to install 4.2 on your 8703e by copying the java directory from a 4.2 OS and replacing the java directory of your 8703e OS. This will install the 4.2 OS while leaving your radio code intact. I have done this a while back using 8707 code on an 8700.

I would be well versed in the following two procedures if you try this.

How do I wipe the BlackBerry using Jl Cmder? - BlackBerryFAQ

What to do next if Jl Cmder will not connect and wipe - BlackBerryFAQ
