Default gps on the 8330 verizon in the woods and on the water?

hello, i have a verizon curve and the bb maps with the gps on location on does not work. i was wondering if there is anything out there that may work as a garmin or etrex hand held to give me way points and lines of travel. can anyone tell me why the bbmaps does not work. i am on version 4.5.160

Read the yellow sticky at the top of this section for info on most of the BB map applications.

You can also use the SEARCH function.

MY BB Maps did work on that device. I am assuming you did a battery pull. I am not sure if the woods are the issue. Does it work in more open areas?

You need a clear view of the sky. It's best to use a more sensitive BT puck which is WAY better than the on-board GPS of the 8330. No need for the puck in open areas or on the water since you need a clear view of the sky.

I use a Keychain GPS2000 which has served me well on many an excursion into the woods and only adds 1 ounce to your weight. You can also use trekbuddy or GPStracker which will do the waypoint stuff.
