tmobile service plan upset
Please Login to Remove!
I was SO excited to order my first BB today UNTIL I realized the tmobile "unlimited" blackberry plan does not include unlimited text messages! i have a sidekick and am used to the $20 UNLIMITED plan. I cant purchase the plan that comes with unlimited messages +1000 antime minutes because I am on a family plan and already have minutes. i send at least 20,000 txts a month. how can i get unlimited txts on my new BB, is it possible? =/
thanks!

Sarajane, you can't get unlimited texts on your BB unless you pay for it.

obviously, but will the $14.99 unlimited text message plan work on a BB? and since IMs are charged as txt messages will that plan include IMs?

Best to Call TMo to find out what text plan is best for you and your particular plan.
That being said, there are other applications that will do IM without using text messages. JiveTalk works well and is a one time $20 and works with all the main IM services, Google Talk, AOL, ICQ, Yahoo, MSN, and Jabber. It uses your BB data plan, so no sms charges.

You can get unlimited TXT messaging plan for all lines on your family plan for just $19.95/month, that means if you have 5 lines on your Family plan, everyone gets to TXT message to their hearts content all for that price. . . . Your BB service for your own line is $19.99/month. All these are on top of your FamilyTime calling plan . . . BTW, the TXT messaging plan includes SMS, MMS, Picture, video, IM . . . About a year or more ago, T-Mobile offered the unlimited TXT messaging plan for FamilyTime plans for just $9.95!!! . . . needless to say, I still have this legacy plan. . . . What you need to do is consolidate your BB account into your FamilyTime account and just subscribe to the Add-ons (Unlimited BB for yourself and unlimited TXT messaging for the whole account) . . .

Incorporate your BB account into your FamilyTime plan and you'll just payy the usual $9.99 add-on familytime line, then add Unlimited BB for $19.99 'coz you're technically on a voiceplan already,(for the same price of BB service without voice - $29.99) and subscribe to the FamilyTime Unlimited TXT messaging plan for $19.95

AFAIK, 300 SMS is not available for the $19.99 BIS add-on. However, if you have these BB+Minutes plans, they include some SMS per month.

This is true. BUT... the 300 texts are NOT included in the $19.99 add-on. If you have a phone rate plan, and add-on BlackBerry data for $19.99, you have to also purchase a text messaging plan separately.
Having said that, the $19.99 plan includes unlimited use of your as a tethered modem for a laptop/PC, a feature you DON'T get on the Sidekick! So, as far as I'm concerned, it all balances out.

Send SMS messages to cell phones by emailing .
They'll get the SMS message, and when they reply you'll receive it in your email.
