They are both very good. Empower is a bit faster, but personally I like the look of BB Smart and an update should be out soon. I think both offer free trials.

Empower basic is exactly that, basic with not alot of personalization options, but a very good piece of software. BBSmart has alot of options, nice user interface but is slower in loading when opening emails. I opted for Empower basic for its speed, However when Empower Pro was released I gave it a try and quickly upgraded to it. Still very fast to load, with lots of options. Great Piece of software again. Kudos to Ani for his great work and fantastic customer service.

With that being said, it just boils down to personal preference and what is important for your personal use. Give em all a try and decide!

Happy Berrying!

Question

A bit out of topic here,

On BBSmart, I noticed that they have to download the image(s) everytime I open the email ( even the same emails).

Is this the same with Empower?

Empower actually stores the image on your SD card if so desired. There is a setting to determing how much space you want to use for said images.

I bought the BB Smart software because of the free updates for life.

Or so thay say.

There is one thing I wish they would improve upon, that is to make their email work better with the firewall enabled on my BB. Other that that it works great.

I went with Empower because the trial period for BBSmart was only 4 days. I guess I'm a person who takes longer than 4 days to make a decision. But they are both great programs.

Haven't tried BBSmart since Empower gave me a license during their gold rush as well as a $5 upgrade to Pro. I do like the image prefetch feature in Pro.

I have also used both (empower pro and BBsmart) and I liked BBsmart. I use it now on my curve.
