Default Tour Vs. 83XX

Please Login to Remove!

OK - So my ATT 2 yr contract is up the 12th Dec and I have been looking into changing carriers, basically been with ATT for 5 years and wanted to try something different, the iphone is ok, but I see to many on ebay with one drop and broke, plus I love my QWERTY keyboard and cannot get used to the idea of touchscreen typing.

So, I currently have a 8310, which has been perfect with no issues, I have regularly updated the firmware and not once has it locked. So my question to the Tour extended team is, which BB to go for now, does the fact that the Tour not having WiFi make a huge difference? or will the 3G network make up for that lacking.

I like the idea of the Tour, it looks great, has good writeups, apart from the trackball, which I assume they ve fixed. Right now I can get a Tour from Verrizon for 49.99 shipped free from Amazonwireless.com so I m really thinking about it.

Thoughts - I know people will tell me depends what you want and theres pros and cons with each, but is the Tour that much better than a 83XX?

I upgraded from a Verizon 8330 to the Tour and haven't regretted it. The display is better and overall the speed is better. I do occasionally have to wait on it when I am trying to do something though. Still overall it is a significant improvement over the 8330

I have a VZW Tour and I love it. Do not miss wifi, in fact, wifi is a tether I find annoying. The speed of this thing is amazing and if you get cell signal, you have internet.
AT&T sux and VZW is the best. Go for it and don't look back. BTW $49.00 is a great deal.

Having done the same upgrade 8330>9630 its a big jump in memory, screen resolution and camera. And at the price you mentioned, fantastic deal.

I love my tour, faster and more capable. But I miss my 8330s keyboard. How about that new bold 9700, it looks like a tour to me ATT has that

Touch screen vs Buttons is the first major difference. You will need to try the Storm 2 for a few days to see how you adjust.

Ok so another question would be, If I stayed with ATT and went with the Bold, is that the same phone as the Tour minus WiFi or is the Tour better still.

The Tour is slightly smaller than the Bold, has a better camera, and a higher resolution screen (despite being physically smaller).

I was hesitant about going from the 8330 to the Tour (on Sprint) due to the keyboard, but the better screen more memory convinced me. I'm used to the keyboard now so am quite happy with the switch.
