Question BES Last Result: Failed forwarding message

Can any one help, I been stuck on this for days!

I have setup two seperate BES servers (one with MSDE and one with SQLEXPRESS) and tried desktop activation and wireless activation but keep coming up with:

Last Result: Failed Forwarding Message

The status says running, last contact time is up to date.

I have set this up before and worked fine.

The phone works fine when doing a just the desktop redirect.

What am I doing wrong?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi markos_sarris,

I initially had the same problem when i first started out with my Pearl 8100. I tried connecting to work email via BES but kept getting the failed forward message error. it turned out to be that i did not have a Blackberry data plan. This has to be done via your carrier.

Give your carrier a ring and request to have the blackberry data plan. it may cost you more on top of your monthly plan cost.

I will double check it is strange that the internet works on the phone though? I did get the desktop redirector working in the first place so I assumed the data plan was working. Since trying to get BES to work I tried going back to the desktop redirector and and now get the same message on that.
Failed Forwarding Message
I always thought if you have GPRS ie you can go on the internet that this means your data plan is woking. Was not aware of any special Blackberry data the carrier need to switch on.
I will find out.

Yes there is a special carrier setup call enterprise for backberry if you do not have this on you get the Failed Forwarding Message.
Hope this saves someone elses weekend.

Has any found a solution to this issue yet? I have a users that was using their BB for personal use and now what it connected to the BES server, but still keep the Yahoo settings that has been set.

I have done the following:
- Deleted the account off the BES and Added it back, when connected to the BES messages are forwarded.
- Deleted the Desktop entries in the Service book, resend the service book to the device.
- Can not find the Enterprise activation anywhere, to try a wireless activation.

My users says that he has comfirmed with the Carrier that he is on the right plan so that he can receive messages from the BES server.
