Hey there tomorrow we are installing another bes server with exchange2003. I was wondering if it uses the same srp id as in the database or do you have to use the new one that came with the software? Also i am wondering this because we don't want ot have to reactivate phones we just want to beable to drag from server A to server B. This is with bes 4.1.4.15.

You MUST use a different SRP on the second BES.
If you attempt to use the same SRP on two different active BES servers, RIM will disable it.

In terms of sharing a remote database between BES's, this will definitely work for you.

As long as you set the new BES up with the new SRP, and point the install to the remote BESMgmt database, then you should be able to move the users from 1 BES to another without issue.

Also, make sure you're using the same version of BES on both servers ...

Depending what you wanna do. If you want to retire old BES then you need to install new server with the same blackberry server name and same SRP connecting to a same database while old server is shut down (or services stopped). If you want to have load balance in place then new SRP is needed.
