Default Update Configuration Check Status not working

Please Login to Remove!

BES 4.1.4 for MS Exchange

Recently, we've started seeing some weird behavior related to the Update Configuration Check Status command.

We keep separate software configurations for each device series. In the past, selecting that command would refresh the Application Status for the device, showing whether it was up-to-date or if software still needed to be pushed OTA.

On the server itself, the command stopped working last week, instead returning:
---------------------------
BlackBerry Manager
---------------------------
There are no configurations to check: none of the selected
users have both devices and configurations assigned to them.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

However, on a remote install of BlackBerry Manager, the command was still functioning as expected. As of yesterday, the remote install returns the same error.

The user has a device and software configuration assigned. Ideas?

I guess I don't understand what you've said ... can you post a screenshot?

Are you saying that it appears from the BES Manager that none of the users have configurations applied to them?

Every user has a configuration applied. On the BES, as well as on a remote installation of BlackBerry Manager, if I right-click a user and select "Update Configuration Check Status," I get the error message posted.

On a second remote installation of BlackBerry Manager, the same action works as expected. (It updates the status field, without error.)

Again, it was working on the BES as well as on all remote installs of the manager, then one-by-one it stopped working.

Cool Solution

After installing SP5, this was checked again but still not working.

However, I finally figured it out today.

In BlackBerry Manager, if you remove PIN from the visible columns, you will lose the ability to Update Configuration Check Status. Add PIN back to the visible columns and it will function normally. So, appears to be a bug in BBMgr.

Thanks for the info. Same thing in my test environment on 4.1.5 after testing. Looks like the query requires the PIN column to be selected for it to function.
