Default desktop manager and 7130e

Please Login to Remove!

I can't connect my 7130e (OS 4.1..) to BES thru Desktop Manager.
Verified the connection by pinging the server from the workstation both via
ip address and host name. No 3rd party firewall is installed. XP firewall is disabled. Connection setting finds the device ok.. Despite all of these, I still get server is unavailable...I can connect jus fine with 7250. I even tried on a different pc with same result. What am I missing? Any ideas...

The Desktop Manager will not connect unless there is a valid OutLook email account setup on the PC. Hopes might help solve your problem.

This user actually has Notes email account already setup on the PC.
Any other ideas...

The 7130e ships with desktop manager version 4.1. Is this the version installed?

You have identified two devices...but one user account. Are you attempting to switch devices?
Did the user receive the"Do you want to switch handheld" prompt?
If the user (Notes client) can access their mail file...and with the 7250 connected...everything works, then the mail server is available, and so is the BES server through port 4101.
What version of the DM is currently being used?
Have you tried stopping the DM, switching the USB connection on the laptop/desktop and restarting the DM and connecting the 7130e again?

DM that's installed is 4.1..We've tried the older version also but to no avail.

Default check registry for NOTES

We have come across this issue. Question was Notes recently upgraded to 6.x? If so check the registry entry under hkey_local_machine/software/lotus/notes. How many entries are under there? If you see an entry for 6.x and 5.x deleted the one for 5.x .

Also check and make sure the notes.ini is valid, and the location doc is correct.

There is no other entries other than 6.x in the registry.
I think 7130e and desktop manager is either not compatible..
