So I was a choochbag

and dropped my Cingular 8700c and the screen no longer shows anything but blank white. I think I have gotten over my bitterness that Cingular doesn't provide any H/W insurance on BBs (WTF?

), and based on what I've read, repair doesn't seem viable (lack of people to do it, downtime, etc.)

So I guess I'm going to go buy another one from Cingular tonight.

Assuming I do, and assuming that I can just pop my SIM card from the broken one into the new one - will I be able to restore my old full backup onto the new hardware?

Will the fact that the new H/W has a different PIN screw anything up during the restore? I am talking about a full restore, including TCP settings, 3rd party software, etc (not just PIM data).

I am switching from one unit to another unit. I was given a demo unit to use with my SIM card but must return it when I receive my new permanent unit.

Will the Restore function work like you just described?
