Default Resolution of 7750 screen for Home Screen Image

Please Login to Remove!

I have searched the forums here and have not been able to find an answer to this question.

What is the ideal resolution for an image that is to be used as the "Home Screen Image" on a 7750? Should a certain amount of "white space" be left at the top to allow for the clock and/or blue shaded bar? I have experimented with a few different sizes, but I can't seem to find the best size.

On a similar note. What is the maximum resolution that can be displayed with the Pictures application? It would be easier (and more fun) to keep pictures of the kids in my BlackBerry instead of my wallet.

Thanks.

I too have searched long and far for an answer. Best I could come up with was 240x240 as the screen resolution for the 7750.

I am also looking for the screen resolution for the Standby screen. I have tested several image sizes, and the 7750 appears to push the image upward, thus chopping off the top portion of the picture. I then tested making an image with a large white space (approx. 20 pixesl), and this too seemed to fail.

Thus, I would appreciate any of the following:

- Ideal Home Screen picture size & Max resolution
- Ideal Standby Screen picture size & Max resolution

PS I noted that the home screen looses some of the color richness... as opposed to when I view it within a browser, where the colors look more lively.

I have found that a smaller image works nicely for the standby screen. I took our company logo and resized it to about 150 pixels wide by about 100 pixels high. When the standby screen kicks in, the image is automatically centered on the screen.

I too noticed that a home screen image looks a bit washed out. I suspect that the BlackBerry does this so that the icons will always stand out. You could always 'oversaturate' your home screen image using a photo editor. This way it will maintain it's color when used as a background.

Still no answer to the resolution question. Does anyone that does BlackBerry program development know the answer?

Thanks again.

Default 7250 screen resolution

I have found that the screen on a 7250 is 240 by 160. And the viewable area of that that's useful for standby and home screen images is 240 by 122, with the top 38 pixels being blank, for a total of 240 by 160.

Just for reference (because someone will ask) the lightened portion of the home screen (at the bottom, where it shows the name of the icon you're on) is 24 pixels high and 240 wide.
