Talking Finally a good FREE personal finance manager.

Please Login to Remove!

Here's one i found today, it's called JabpLite it's a personal finance manager, i've used eCheckRegister and Moblecheckbook 3.0 from Handango and JabpLite is the best plus it's free. The interface is great compaired to eCheckRegister (which i used for several months until i found this program this morning) and has alot of features that eCheckRegister didn't that makes it easy to use, such as only allowing numbers in the amount fields on transactions or showing your account balance in realtime. Anyways check it out here:

http://www.freepoc.org/viewapp.php?id=58

To install it go to http://www.freepoc.org/dowload/midp2 from your blackberry browser and download japdlite.jar and let it install it takes a couple minutes but works great on my 7520.

BTW i'm not affiliated with these folks so if you have trouble with the app please contact the author. Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up. Minor correction in the URL to download the app, you r missing the "N" in download.

To install it go to http://www.freepoc.org/download/midp2

Also I had to use the NOL browser, wasn't able to get with Reqwireless Webviewer due to "JAVA Security" constraints, so I assume may have the same issue with the new BB Browser , maybe.

The following can be found at the freepoc website.

"JabpLite comes with a sister program JabpBT, which allows smartphones running MIDP 2.0 to exchange data with a PC via Bluetooth. You can import or export QIF files to work with other PC-based financial programs. You can also backup your data and, when the time comes, move it onto your next phone!"

I was able to download it to my T-Mobile 7290 by:

(1) Using the BlackBerry browser, as opposed to the T-Mobile T-Zones browser
(2) Using this jar file link: http://www.freepoc.org/download/midp2/JabpLite.jar
(3) Ignoring messages that the download or installation failed
(4) Trying until I successfully installed the program (after probably six tries)

Some of our "download failed" or "installation failed" experiences may be blips in downloading large files, rather than midp2-BlackBerry incompatibilities.

Got it, got it installed and configured a checking, savings, and credit card account. Now - how do I enter transactions? I don't see a way to do that from the menu.

jabplite seems to have been developed for the p900. i tried a few personal finance programs and settled on Money for Blackberry. it makes better use of track wheel and works fine on 7100 series, see http://www.handango.com/blackberry

great program, only thing I don't like is when you push the wheel, it defaults to selecting close, which sucks
