Anybody try LiteFeed yet on their BlackBerry? I already use Newsclip on my 7510 and was wondering about this new free software/service.

http://www.litefeed.com

I have no affiliation with either company. Just curious.

Default Sorry

That should read: http://www.litefeeds.com/

I missed the "s". ANyway, the reason I asked is because it seemingly doesn't work with Nextel. (My provider)

Default If You Do Check it Out

Please let us know what you think. I believe Telus was one of the service providers listed as compatible. I'm quite satisfied with Newsclip, but I'm always on the lookout for new software. Thanks.

Nextel and Telus are not providers listed and no where is the APN info. for these carriers listed. I emailed Litefeeds support and hopefully they can help, b/c it looks like a great program.

That wasa nice find. I too need some NEXTEL Config DATA. EMS 275 if you could post it when u get it, that will save us from inundating Litefeeds with the same request.

Hi!
I installed it, and seemed to have entered the wrong information... Is there anyway to change it afterwards? I only get the Litefeeds screen...

I did the same thing, It just kept trying to connect. Del the app, reboot and ri-install and you should be fine. It worked for me.

Here is what I received back from the LiteFeeds Founder/Developer:

Thanks for your feedback. It looks like none of our Nextel users are having any success connecting to the Internet, and Nextel does not provide any Gateway settings. However we are looking into a workaround and I will get back to you asap once we find a solution.
Thanks for your patience.

Default They told me pretty much the same thing

When I first installed the program. In fact, when I informed them that I used Newsclip and it worked fine, they were surprised, as they had never heard of the program. They're going to look at Newclip's solution for Nextel and will try to see if they could implement something similar.

While repititious, after saying we should wat to see what EMS 275 got as an answer, I realized I had already sent a request for info on NEXTEL. Although the reply is basically the same, it is obvious we are getting personal and individual answers, That tells me each EMAIL is being read and no canned replies. I am posting for two reasons.
1. They are obviously on the ball and are attentative to the needs of their users, as our replies show.
2. We all arent dumb and cannot figure it out TOGETHER LOL I thought the fact that they have changed there answer to "A FLOOD" of EMAIL will make us all feel a solution is forth comming as in the fact that "A FLOOD" of us are waiting.
Thanks John for a fast and professional answer. It goes along way with us.

Hi Ron,

Thanks for your feedback. We are getting a flood of email from Nextel
users. It looks like none of them are having any success connecting to
the Internet, and Nextel does not provide any Gateway settings.
However we are looking into a workaround and I will get back to you
asap once we find a solution. Thanks for your patience.

I've checked around with a few mobile RSS reader guys and this is the feed back I got from the FreeNews developer on their compatability with Nextel:

I added an option to FreeNews Corporate edition to support Nextel (need to turn this on before doing an Update):

Settings -> Account -> Direct connection (for Nextel, etc.)

and it worked for the user I did it for. No guarentees.
