Default mute button is loose (very loose)

Please Login to Remove!

I searched but saw no signs of similar posts. My mute button is very loose. It moves in all directions as if attached only at the center, and its not at all flush with the top of the phone. Its two weeks old and the tmo rep said its definitely not supposed to be that way, but he wouldn't exchange it because he says I probably did it (excuse me?!I almost popped him one). Anyone else's mute button feel loose like this? I don't anticipate it to be a problem, but I'd feel more comfortable with one that's not so loose...I'm going to try another tmo store tonight.

mine has been "loose" from the start and i think they are all made that way for some reason there is a smaller button inside which the outer one pushes down on. when i had mine apart (40-60) times i tried to make it pop off and it wouldnt even though it feels loose so dont worry..

Not loose here although it is slightly recessed - so that perhaps holds it in place.

Hey you guys,

Just got my new pearl, and it's my firts post here.

Today I was a little worried. Wanted to go back to the dealer to get me an other one...

The mute button is in fact very loose. At first I didn't notice it, but while using it, it felt like it wasn't popping back as it should be...

If I heavily move the pearl up and down, you can even hear that it's a bit loose.

I wonder if this is the case with every BB pearl.
Anyone to confirm this?

Greetz,

Ribo

yep, mine's like that. Been like that since day one. I don't use it, so it doesn't bother me.

Mine is somewhat loose too, although not to the point where it rattles in its socket. It's also not entirely flush, but it's only noticeable when I look closely, so it doesn't bother me.

Mine is like that to, so it is either a design flaw (hush my mouth) or a manufacturing defect, which has affected a large batch of Pearls.

I think this is because of the dual mode function of the mute button. When on a call a quik touch puts it in mute. But when in nromal unused mode one has to press and hold for the pearl to go to into standby.

I rather have it flushed down like that, because if it wasn't then I'd be taking it off standby all the time.

I have a Tmo Pearl with the button flush with the top of the phone and not loose. I also have a Cingular Pearl that is loose exactly as decribed in this thread. Both function the same of course.
