Default question about the data plan/networks

Please Login to Remove!

i have a blackberry curve 8520 on pay as you go on orange network, i pay £5 every time i top up for the data plan which gives me internet etc....

on the orange network im on the animal plan: Dolphin - this gives me free textxs and 100mb of internet for 1 month

im just wondering if im paying the £5 when i top up the the BIS (Blackbrry internet service), Why am i using my orange internet... for example i have 40mb out of 100mb left for this month...

is there a setting i can change somewhere or if this question is too unclear, post a reply on what u need clearing up on, BUT IF YOU CAN HELP ME HERE HELP IS APPRECIATED!

EXTRA INFO: What i mean when i say ("Why am i using orange internet") i mean i pay £5 for the BIS, shouldnt i get free internet with that package for the month also?

Yes, with BIS the internet is included as BlackBerry data. You shouldn't need another data plan on top of the BIS. Your BlackBerry doesn't even use carrier data, only BlackBerry (BIS) data.

Awesome! Thanks rambo, so once my 100MB is used up, i dont need to change a setting for it to use the BIS?

You should only be using BIS data on a BlackBerry. I'm guessing that you only have one plan but Orange may be referring to it as the Dolphin plan, which must include BIS data. It should be one in the same. So when you use up your 100MB monthly allotment you have to buy more.

Its possible you may be using WAP to browse [i.e. if you go through Orange's WAP page] which may be taken out of your 100MB.
However, as Rambo said, you should have only BIS, and then 100MB shouldn't be there.
Easiest way to confirm, call Orange, preferably get through to technical support [as they'll know more] and ask to confirm your plan and your internet usage.

Just remember that the data plan does not include streaming or uploading, Youtube will cost you ;)
