Just wondering if on BES messenger is trackable? What about google talk or Jive?

When I mean by trackable does it record what you say?

Depending on how the BES is set up, I know that Messenger is trackable - and yes, can see everything that is typed.

Not sure about Google Talk or Jive. I'm sure those could be blocked if they can't be tracked.

Both GoogleTalk and JiveTalk use data transmission in their operation, so it is safe to assume your BES has access to it.

Dont know if they use MDS to talk though so that would mean they would have to log client side and then sync the logs back to the BES.

You probably could define an IT policy to force auditing of said logs, but I dont know that either mentioned client supports any form of logging.

BlackBerry Messenger is definitely trackable with BES 4.1 because BES 4.1 can audit PIN messages.

With the other IM client you can track session connection but not the text itself.
