Unhappy Error 543/507

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All

I know that question has been asked million of times but i have no luck with BB 8800 sitting @ error 543.
I did follow instructions and did a Wipe ... after which handheld showd error 507
Then followed instructions and reloaded software using application loader ... and get 543 after that. Tried varios apps to do a clean wipe inluding javaloader and JL_Commander. At this point I'm asking for your help.
All this time was using desktop manager 4.2 SP2 with the latest software set from Cingular(matching handheld).

Thanks

Exclamation

John, This is exactly what i've done multiple times. Even thou BB's helpt does not say that vendor.xml should be removed i've done it with and without it.
I've even tried using older versions of DM but some of them (v4.0) did not run on vista. Belive me when i say i've done my research. I've followed multiple instructions.

Is it possible that since device was originally branded as Cingular and I'm trying to load AT&T release on it it failes ? I do not know what else to think/do. Thanks you for you patience

Unhappy Here are more details....

Attached is the screenshot of the application loader.
Step 1,2 and 3 of it go without any activity on the BB Display.
Right before step 4 it reboots the device and maybe for a second or two BB displays 507 error. That seems kinda odd since error 507 means no OS but OS should have been loaded by now. As you can see in the image it continues and successfully finished the load. Then BB restarts again ...
First time it boots for 1-2 minutes and then restarts. All that time only spinning hourglass is diplayed. Then it restarts few more times before diplaying error 543.

Please help.

It's normal to see the 507 error before it loads the java applications.

As for why it won't boot, I'm not sure. The vendor.xml has nothing to do with it. I would try uninstalling all the OS's from the PC, then uninstall Desktop Manager and reinstall both of them again. If it still doesn't work try a different PC.

John,

I've tried 3 various PCs @ my work place. I'm gonna get fired for this s.... Thanks for your reply. I may have forgotten to mention that BB was fine until i've mistakenly tried to load T-mobile software updates for 8800 on it. I'll give it a shot on another untouched PC
See event log if that may help

Default Here is the new one.

I've tried various ways of reloading the software.... now no errors appear just constant restarting and hour glass spinning. Reload got stuck on last 2 steps. See attached image.

Default Reset error while upgrading to 4.2.2.180 t-mobile 8320

Recently purchased my t-mobile 8320 with 4.2.2.171 OS. Saw the upgrade to 4.2.2.180, attempted intall and problems as described below.

I've tried multiple times to fix this error and it still persists (error 543). As previously noted by others the following happens to me as well...."Right before step 4 it reboots the device and maybe for a second or two BB displays 507 error.....it continues and successfully finished the load. Then BB restarts again ...
First time it boots for 1-2 minutes and then restarts. All that time only spinning hourglass is diplayed. Then it restarts few more times before diplaying error 543."

I did a wipe multiple times. I think I did the removal of the VM DLFX and DLPS correctlt but I am not sure. I typed "javaloader -usb debugmode VM DLFX" and then "javaloader -usb debugmode VM DLPS" and then I rebooted with Ctrl-Alt-DEL and then by removing the battery.

So now the DM windows shows "DISCONNECTED".

When I go to options, however the USB-PIN is correct. The device manager shows it connected.
Javaloader shows all relevant OS data on the device.

Seems I'm close to resolving this - If I could only get the desktop manager window to show Connected. I plug in my old blackberry 7510 and the PIN does show in the window.

Pulling hairs out now... used the switching utility to get some files from the 7510 to see if they get to the 8320 in order to at least get the desktop manager window to show the pin. Just started it.. the screen shows the 543 error, the Device manager shows connected and the desktop manager shows the pin of my 7510 blackberry. It's taking forever to connect to my 8320 but it shows progress.

Can anyone let me know if I'm down the right path?

You do not need DM to show connected to reload the software. Just start App Loader from
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

I'm in exactly same situation. The DM shows DISCONNECTED, though I can manualy start APP LOADER. It loads everything but after reboot same error 507.

How did you solved this?

This sounds like a corrupt OS install onto the PC. Uninstall the OS version from Windows Control Panel, then re-download the OS (don't use the download you've all ready got), and reinstall onto the PC. Try again and let us know what happens.

Spencer,

I've done that multiple times. What I was using however is latest AT&T branded software. I could not find anywhere original CINGULAR branded one.

Ehh, the AT&T software is junk. Besides, it's the same version as the formerly-branded "Cingular" OS. I recommend the 4.2.1.108 version stickied at the top of the 8800 thread. I use it, I love it.

No worries. Make sure you delete C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\AppLoader\vendor.xml before running AppLoader.

I resolved this by calling t-mobile support and then escalating it to RIM support. They eventually said I needed a new unit. Luckily the phone was not even a month old and I had insurance so I did not have to pay shipping and handling. LOL.. When I got my new unit I was so damn scared to upgrade the OS but I did it and now it all works great albeit the typical things most have mentioned...a couple reboots during phone calls and you don't have the MYFAVS icon anymore. Oh yeah...when the upgrade is all done you need to leave it connected (or at least I did - I didn't touch a thing till it was completely done and the t-mobile screen appeared again) for the twenty minute duration..I almost had a heart attack not knowing what was going to happen...lol...Otherwise everything works great! I love this phone!
