Default OBEXFTP Connections 8300

Please Login to Remove!

I'm trying to send and receive data via bluetooth (8300 Curve) using the obexftp/obexfs tools.

I've actually got the device paired and it connects no problem, but I can't see any data.

For example obexftp -b MACADDRESS -B6 -x connects and disconnects, then returns failed: info.

I know there are different channels and I tried a few, but don't really know what I'm doing.

Anyone had success with this or could point me to more info.

Google to the rescue!

Transferring Files Over Bluetooth using a BlackBerry Curve, Pearl, or 8800 | Linux App Finder

(I haven't tried it yet myself)

Thanks. I did see that page before posting, but unfortunately I'm not running KDE and I am looking for a more low level way of doing this.

It does give me hope that I'm missing something.

I've now found out that until recently Blackberry phones did not even implement the OBEX protocol (due to security issues).

The 8300 is one of the first phones to actually have it, but it's limited (again for security). There is only one OBEX capable service available (by default) on channel 6: Phonebook Access PSE. Not sure what this service does.

However, when I tell BB to receive a file via bluetooth; a new service is available on channel 7: File Transfer Agent. The file descriptor is OBEX Object Push.

I'm getting discourage that OBEXFTP will not work they way I want it too
