Go to options/about to verify you have exactly the above version. if not, get if from here:
http://www.t-mobile.com/bbupgrade/ . Get the Desktop manager as well. When you install them, install the DM first, then the OS package.
This is the latest version of the OS on the website. Either you have the worst luck in the world and have two hardware issues or you have software issues. If you do the following procedure and then reload the OS fresh we will know that you don't have any anomolies in the OS. Killing and re-educating blackberries with the usbwipe (as below) has only failed to help with hardware issues.
