Default internal antenna issues with BB 7100T

Please Login to Remove!

hey I'm a newbie here so please bare with me. I have had my BB for some time now and I seem to lose reception almost everywhere. it's always looking for network. Can this be an internal antenna issue? most of my friends and co-workers have the same model and they don't have this problem. Please help.

Did you try wiping the device and reinstalling the handheld SW?

How do I go about wiping the device? I have no idea how to do that.

Options>Security Options>General Settings, and on the pull down menu, click Wipe Handheld.

Sigh. That will wipe out the customer data only and will not wipe out the programs....

From a thread yesterday by baconismydog

Go to options/about to verify you have exactly the above version. if not, get if from here: http://www.t-mobile.com/bbupgrade/ . Get the Desktop manager as well. When you install them, install the DM first, then the OS package.

This is the latest version of the OS on the website. Either you have the worst luck in the world and have two hardware issues or you have software issues. If you do the following procedure and then reload the OS fresh we will know that you don't have any anomolies in the OS. Killing and re-educating blackberries with the usbwipe (as below) has only failed to help with hardware issues.

Download JL_Cmdr

JL_Cmdr is a DOS front for the Blackberry JRE development environment. Props to d_fisher for creating the frontend.

__---Using the JL_Cmdr software---__

Choose 5 . Click Yes .
Type blackberry . You should see 507 on the unit, donxxx8217;t panic.

Now, you will need to do a little maneuvering to make the Desktop Manager (DM) software recognize this dead unit. You will notice that the DM doesnxxx8217;t recognize the Blackberry, once again, donxxx8217;t panic. Double click on the application loader . Click NEXT, NEXT. Voilaxxx8217;.

You told them how to erase the customer data. NOT how to wipe the device.
