Default Cant sync adddress book/tasks

Please Login to Remove!

I am fairly new to this whole blackberry thing but I have a user who syncs his blackberry to exchange with v4.1.4.5 of the blackberry professional server. I am getting a message in the BB logs and in my event viewer logs that says :

[26016] (09/22 14:14:39.234):{0x2768} [SYNC-PIMConnector] User's Tasks is not initialized in Exchange, sync request ignored.

I get the same thing for his address book as well. Any ideas on what is causing this ?

I would check the wireless setting on the handheld and make sure it is set to yes under address book > options. If you dont have the option then I would delete the sync service book, then re-send the services books from the BES, and check again.

hi y'all... same/similar issue.

Does the version of O/S on the device have anything to do with functions not being available? Like not having an option for Wireless Sync?

Do you get any errors within the application log or the sycn log? The best way to test is have a handheld. Try to create a PIM item and then about 10-20 seconds later take a look at the sync log and app log.

I was able to solve the problem by allowing unsupported devices under mobile devices in exchange.

I searched by the event id and was able to find a similar error that suggested going into exchange and allowing unsupported mobile devices and that fixed the problem for me. I no longer get the error.

Hi mbattaglia;

Just curious. What kind of BB does this end user have? Is it because of the device type? Or??

Thx...

H.
