Excuse my ignorance, but what is MDS?

You have to call cingular data services and get wap.cingular added as your APN.

BBTools - BBLight not working
I have a 7130e from Verizon - latest OS 4.1. I loaded the latest version of BBLight and BBToday from sourceforge. BBToday is great and everything works well.
However, BBLight seems not to be working or I just don't understand how to configure it. It loaded fine OTA and said it was installed correctly. I rebooted the berry and went into BBLight to configure it. I set it up so that all the options were turned on. Now my blackberry stays lit all the time. The light doesn't seem to go out all except when I holster the blackberry. If I just leave it sitting on the desk or in my shirt pocket, it stays lit the whole time. However there seems to be a slight dimming of the light every few seconds (possibly caused by the polling interval??).
Anyone else have BBLight running on the 7130e? Am I configuring it wrong?
Dave

I loaded BBToday and love the look and potential usefulness.
However, when I click on any category I always recieve the following error: uncaught exception java.lang.error.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Im sure this has already been covered but seeing that I spent two days trying to figure out how to correct the bbWEATHER, Im going to share anyway. Go to this link
http://www.aspnetresources.com/tools/locid.aspx and put in your location, ie..(boston, ma). Once you have the code, go to you bb today weather section, hit the scroll wheel and select preferences. Delete the Texas ID (USTX1351) and replace it with your city's code that you got from the link above. Dont try doing it through the web. I assure you this will work. Newbie here and loving my BB 7250!!!!

I loaded BBToday onto my 7130E yesterday and I love the features (even got the weather to work).
I'm having 2 problems though:
1) If BBToday is on the main screen when I put my BB into the holster it locks up the BB when removed from the holster. I have to reboot (power button at top)to get back to the main screen. When it reboots I have an "Uncaught exception process BBToday (90) killed due to message queue overflow" and a OK click box.
2) This morning it looks like BBToday tried to take over the main screen, when it did it locked up the BB again. This time it wasn't in the holster but just sitting on my desk.
I'd love to see these items sorted out because I think the rest of the program is great.

Hey Kracko. Left you a PM. Be sure to reset your BB by romoving the battery after you add the new location. Your location ID needs to be put in the bbtoday weather section and if you downloaded the weather .74 (i think thats the name) then you need to create a profile by adding the location ID there also. Be sure to select update also. PM me if you this does not work.

Problems with BBweather
I have a 7105t on a BES server and I installed BBweather and have no problems using it. I installed BBweather on same Blackberry but is not on a BES server and the program does not work. Would not being on a BES server make the program not work? I get an error saying can not load service book or something saying IPPP, i can't remember the error message exactly.

Next time do a search, first you have to disable the MDS in the weather program inside options, second go to your BWC and resend the service books. If you do not have a BB data plan it wont work

For the record, the problem I was having with BBToday was that I was using the enter key to select an item (i.e. calendar, inbox) instead of clicking the wheel. Mine is working now - at least when I remember to not hit enter.

The problem still exists with 7130e, it kind of hangs the phone and when you reboot the phone it give the 90 killed exception. Hope they sort this out to make it work. It's a good program.

My "issues" with bbToday on my 8700c (not complaining, as I realize this is free software, just my observations):
1) if I hit the space key or return key in bbToday, my BB will sometimes lock up and I need to usually soft-reset, but sometimes hard-reset
2) I don't like that bbToday becomes the default application on startup, i.e. over-rides the home screen...
3) on the weather plug-in, I often get the "malformed address" message and have to manually update
4) I'm now concerned that because this is a 3rd party app using the wap.cingular APN, I will get data charges even though I'm on the BB unlimited plan...

Hi there,
I've read every post in this thread but my particular question (about BBWeather) has not been posted here.
I'm using a 7105t on T-mobile's network. I have OS v4.0.
I installed BBToday and BB Weather and they've installed correctly but the waether module never connects. I've disabled the firewall and disabled the MDS Proxy. I've set up myu location ID with the zip code and it's saving correctly (preserved even after reboot) but for some reason i always get this error message: "Error: Unable to open connection"
btw, all my other third party apps and IM etc are working so i know i can obviously connect to the internet and it's not an APN problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

ok from reading some of the threads i was able to figure out what was wrong....on home screen click on tools that is icon that look like a wrench then click on settings the egg timer then scroll all the way to the bottom to TCP click trac wheel: then where u see APN type in "wap.voicestream.com"
and save...see if that works... if all fails send an email to the software developer they will help forget talking to T-mobile they r totally clueless!! good luck
also have a look here
