Default not sure if this will help anyone

but...

You have to create a PROFILE.
I kept trying, but couldn't, I figured out how.

Start the program bbweather.
Get the error, okay out of it
Click on the Pearl button, go to Options
Under the "Current Profiles"
It should say *empty*, if it does, here lies your problem,
If not, then this won't help you, cease reading any further.

Highlight the *empty* text
and hit the Menu key, this is where I got lost, I kept using the Pearl button.
Click on ADD
Location ID: zip code (us) / Other countries use a longer number, go to weather.com and decipher yours.
Description: anything, example: home, Cali, NOVA...

Hit okay.

Exit all the way out, try the program again.
If you still get an error, try the Original Poster's suggestion of disabling MDS.

Hope this helps someone.

Default Request for assistance from the more knowledgable

Could one of you gurus help a newb BB user out? Please check out this thread and offer some input on the tunneling error?

Thanks in advance. And thanks for helping with bbweather too, I got it working with y'all's excellent instructions.

Default Getting past initial "Error no profiles..."

Because this thread is getting long, and it's such a great app, I'll just repost this.

Remember the key to getting BBWeather to work on initial install to the Pearl is when the "Error no profiles" comes up push the pearl button twice (NO OTHER BUTTONS) then you can use the other buttons as necessary to add the new profiles. If you use any other buttons before the first two presses of the Pearl the program will lock up and you will have to reboot and start over.

Not elegant, but it works!

Default Open tunnel error

I was experiencing the open tunnel error for the longest. I tried every combination. Just recently I tried it again. I erased the apn setting (wap.voicestream.com). Opened BBweather. Got an error. Reentered the apn setting with no username and password opened BBweather and to my surprised it worked. Hopefully this might help others who are experiencing the same open tunnel error.
