I had the same issue with backups. I removed PI for now. I'll wait before they get the bugs out first. Looks good so far, backup issue notwithstanding.

Yikes! I know this is a preview - but I kept getting "This application is not designed for your device messages" (and yes, I downloaded the 4.1 version), then after two attempts at delete/reinstall (including a no icons install), my 8700 went white and required a battery pull. Repeated resets via key combo did not work.

Anyone getting this preview to work on old creaky devices such as the 8700?

[QUOTE=PDM;1035784]There is no need to delete PI to perform a backup.
i.e. DM > Backup and Restore > Advanced > Select everything except PI
...works for me ;)

Is there a way to select all, and then deselect PI? Or do we have to individually select each database to backup?

PI and PocketDay are two entirely different things--in terms of quality of design, UI polish, everything a power user expects. If PI enters the BB arena, PocketDay goes out of business by the end of business that day. That's how vastly superior PI is than anything else out there.

I was a long time PI user before switching to a BB. Bring it on, Alex!

EDIT: Well, maybe that's a bit presumptuous to say PocketDay would be out of business. I'm sure it will have its loyal users stick around. But the difference between PI and anything else available for the BlackBerry can not be overstated.
I think you just did . . . several times!

I like PI, in the past on my palm and Axim. Now on BB
Would it be possible to create a color mode at 'status Out of Office'? (Or didn't I discover the possibility)

Once again, as all have said here, PI is great (and I'm sure will continue to progress). Another suggestion (though I'm sure it's been made already) is that in the tasks view, have an optional view of sperate day folders, which with a click can then expand, to show the particular day's tasks. Now from what I've seen the only similar option is to view "all" tasks. thanks

I'm on an 8703e and I've encountered a problem. For some reason, since I've been using this, "tasks" no longer sync with Outlook. Syncing between PI and BB PIM is fine, but it no longer syncs through my company's BES. Only with tasks, everything else syncs fine.

Anyone else encounter this?

In the move to a new date screen what does +day mean or do? There's already a "tomorrow" option so am not sure.

+Day is for moving an entry to the next day. Tomorrow is for moving to, well, tomorrow but regardless of when you are, that is.

Example: At this writing it is 08/03; assume you have a future appointment on 08/08. If you choose the +Day option the appointment is moved to 08/09. If you choose Tomorrow, it is moved to 08/04.

The point of reference for the Tomorrow option is today's date (08/03 in our example), while that of the +Day option is the event's date (08/08). If the event's date were today, both options would achieve the same purpose as you pointed out.

I hope this makes sense.

It may seem that way but I believe it is the best program available.

Dumb question but how do I access the journal in PI? I don't see an option for it.

Once you open a task or item, it's an option in the menu.

I'm still not sure I see the utility in the Journal feature; isn't the notes section of the task/item sufficient?

Default FYI & a question

Alex, I have a recurring daily task, with a daily reminder, marked as “confidential,” and I have “options” set to hide confidential tasks. All is working fine except that once I mark the task completed and it deletes for today’s date, the next day’s task becomes visible, despite the setting to hide confidential tasks. What I’ve noticed is that for some reason the “privacy” setting reverts back to “normal” after I mark it as completed. Twice now I’ve reset it to “confidential” for all future tasks, and the same thing happens.

Now a question: is there a way, for example in the day view, to quickly view "confidential" events/tasks without having to change the setting in options each time?

thanks

Craig
