Default 8700G Deleting Email and SMS Messages at random?!

Please Login to Remove!

ive ran into a strange problem. apparently my blackberry 8700g is deleting all my email and all of my sms text messages ...don't know what could be the cause.

happened this morning. Looked at my blackberry and nearly all of my emails were gone. there was only one text message left. All of it got wiped. I just synched my contacts to make sure I don't lose all my recent additions.

Any ideas on what the cause could be?

*Note: This happened without synching. So It's not due to some kinda of handset/desktop wins thing (at least i hope not).

Well, considering you are using an 8700 I highly doubt that you are running short on memory. How old were the messages that were deleted? Do they fall into the range that the berry will auto-delete them?
How much free memory do you have right now? Also, if you go into a messages folder, click the trackwheel, go to options and folder, you may want to delete some of the sent and received messages out of those folders there. They can creep up on you.

well given that there is not that many messages in the folder due to the deletion, there's not much at all in there. Free memory is at about 14mb. i dont understand why it would auto delete 90 percent of the emails and about 99 percent of my text messages? Either way I would think that it would gradually delete the prior message not like the entire folder - know what i mean?

you might consider re-installing the software because somewhere system is reading low memory signal and thats why it is deleting.

Try resending the service books -- worked for me on my 8703e when I had email disappearing.
