Default Enabling Internet/Enterprise Activation

Please Login to Remove!

I have a quick question that is most likely easily remedied:

I am on the T-Mobile EDGE network (I just got my phone unlocked by Cingular after 5 days of calling). My phone and texting work fine; however, I'm not able to get online or on the enterprise activation.

It's as though the entire internet network isn't activated for some reason. I'm not on a BES network, fyi.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Enterprise Activation is only for a BES. You can not use EA with BIS/BlackBerry web client.

Does it show EDGE or edge in the top part of the screen? Do you have the BlackBerry Data Plan on your account?

Yes, I have the BB Data Plan with T-Mobile...

How can I activate my email on my phone? Also, I wonder why I can't browse (by the way, I'm in Hawaii right now...maybe THAT has something to do with it). Thanks for the prompt replies!

Update:

I was using the "Setup Internet Email" button from my homescreen and the task just times out. Any thoughts?

Slight modification to NJB's comment above-
Enterprise Activation is only for a BES v4.0 and above.

Still running BES 3.6 in our office and no cigar on EA on my 8700.

You can generally use a carrier's BIS/BWC site to set up email and push service books to the handheld.

Could you elaborate on the whole getting the phone unlocked by Cingular after 5 days deal? Did you buy the phone w/ discount, use it, unlock it, and then dump the Cingular plan within the cancellation period? What did you end up paying for the 8700c? Seems like it might be a good way to circumvent the system.
