My thought is that if the Gizmoskin had the BB rachet clip it would then be the best of both worlds. The Gizmo is definatly a nice low profile and it also for sure goes as one that is also good pocket use. I also have to say, that Gizmoskin realy have stood by its product and I never have seen such a dedicated person that stands behind his own product. I also have to ay it was nice dealing with SPD and it will for sure be my source for all OEM products.
Thanks for the comparison, but I still have a question regarding the closing mechanism. How is it compared to the Gizmo Skin? Can you post pictures?

Thanks,
Amnon

Just got a few OEMs and they are much better than the Gizmo. Very sturdy and just a bit thicker front to back (thicker clip and leather) but thinner left to right and top to bottom because the case is tighter. I am now on my 3rd defective Gizmo case. All 3 are falling apart at the edges and have magnets in strange places that don't always put the BB to sleep. The closing mechanism is identical to the Gizmo in magnet strength but is wider and easier to grab.

I will wait until Gizmoskin comes out with a brown one for the 8700. I agree that the customer service of SPD cannot be beat.
As far as I can tell it is now both. So it should hold up good.

Thanks!
It seems much bulkier.
I have the revised Gizmo Skin and it now makes my 8700 sleep unlike the old one.
I like the low profile of the Gizmo, and the sides seem much better connected now.
I do like OEM so I might get tempted to pick one up for myself...

On a slight tangent, do we know if RIM will be releasing something similar to the 7200 active holster for the 8700?

Hmm that Gizmo skin looks similar to our Monaco case...though I have not had my Monaco case fall apart.

Has anyone jettisoned their screen protector since the new case is so nicely lined? Am I crazy to ditch the screen guard?

I would say that if the case has a nice lining, then the screen protector can go. Especially since they have a couple of threads here about how to remove scratches.

Will this case work well with the extended battery and door? I just ordered one today off eBay and, right now, that's the only thing holding me back from getting this case. I want to make sure it will fit with the extended door.

I think I remember rcg saying it would since it has elastic sides.
