Default Lower right corner of the screen...

Please Login to Remove!

Hey,

anyone else noticed the creaking sound the Curve makes when pressing its lower right corner of the screen? The display can travel like half an millimeter down an creaks.

I watched the 8900 disassembly video on Youtube and noticed that just there, no tape is under the display (only like 3/4 from the left to the middle)

Why does RIM do that??

Yes .. you are right.. I have experienced the same with 6 8900's. All my friends now own the 8900. There is a build issue with bottom right corner of the 8900.

Somehow I am glad to hear that it is not only me getting defective devices... (In this case "defective" means "normal" i think)

Mines doesn't creek, but on my friends when you press the end key it looks as if your pressing down on a LCD screen. That liquid look shows up on the bottom right hand corner. Anyone have issues like that?

Yes mine does this too. This ripple effect. It drove me crazy. Mine was really bad. After going through 4 8900's already and looking at display models... apparently ALL of them do this TO SOME degree... many much less than the one's I have had.

No creak on mine. Very nice feel -- more solid than my old 8300 was...

Are you sure that it's the screen? I tried it out after reading this post and I did hear the creaking sound . . . but looking at it from another angle, I found out that the sound was coming from the battery door flexing as you depress the device and not the screen.
