I've heard a diff tech that doesnt allegedly infringe is ready but RIM will only switch over if forced to.

Haven't been part of the focus group but was told via a source at RIM that the work around has been in the works for a while and that there was a service outtage while they switched over and tested it. IMHO NTP doesn't have a hope in actually shutting down RIM's service.

Yea if NTP wanted RIM to stop their service they (NTP) would have about 5 million people upset at them.
