I have this recurring problem with Klondike solitaire. I'm not sure how far back this goes, but it has happened for the last several builds including .216.... randomly, while playing, the screen will go white, then half green half gray, then white again and flicker slightly. The device becomes completely unresponsive and I have to pull the battery. I play a lot of solitaire (3 hours of public transit a day will do that), and this happens about once every other day.

Aside from that and the same problems I've had with every build thus far (alarm won't escalate and games require language selection on each launch), .216 has been no different to me than .215 or .210. I don't have random reboots (that I'm aware of), home screen wallpaper doesn't reset, radio stays solid on 3G, so on and so on.

Got rid of it , and back to .215 , while on .216 couldn't get more than 38MB memory , with .215 I am back to 43MB and seems like no memory leaks , so yeap sticking with .215 till something better comes along ;)

Read on crackberry.com that .216 was nothing more than .214 renamed thus the appearence to downgrade in numbers. I'm just a rookie at all this anyone else knows? I think RIM is turning into another form of Microsoft Operating Systems and ther million plus updates/patchs for Windows. Come on RIM something that works.

I get all of my information from Crackberry.

Yes, you are a rookie.

If you want to play with betas, then you have to accept the risk. If you don't, then only use the latest version of the handheld OS released by your carrier and be done with it.

Sorry didn' mean to step on anyones toes. Just stating what I read. I know that I don't have the knowledge that some have. I have had 5 Bold's in little over a month. They all had problems with drop calls, restarts by themselves, re-booths, disconnecting from the network, and battery overheating. I've tried .167, .185, .190, .210 & .215 they all had the same problem. All the units I've had were made in Hungry, don't know if that is an issue or not. I start every replacement with the OS that is on the unit. Again sorry for stiring the pot.

Google maps, I even tried a new SD card from SanDisk, formatted on PC and then on Bold. I've had number 5 for 24 hours with no problems running .167, when it starts malfunctioning I start with the upgrades. I've tried it with and without third party software, hope this one is a keeper. AT&T will let me swith to something else, but hard to switch when your used to driving the Lexus of Blackberry. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi all,

I keep noticing some patterns:
- A beta version is out and everybody y chasing it to get it and install it
- Various beta versions installed on various bold devices reboot for different reasons
- ppl installing beta versions without even knowing what the new os version has new in it

i call you guys BB OS chasers... its like a must have. I have yet to read a description of a beta version os that states what they upgraded. I have yet to read truly and valid reason why the device keep rebooting.... pardon me but it all seem very vague.

What does this beta versions have different or better then the last official OS?

hey maybe RIM is playing around with you guys .... they see you guys running around for beta version ... its like entertainment for them.

I have my bold only a week or so ... i have seen 2 versions of beta OS already

Release notes are the responsibility of the carriers (who ultimately release the code) and are rarely handed up, unfortunately. This has been a VERY unusual week, with v214, 215, 216 and 217 (yes, 217 is now out) in one week. Why? Only RIM knows - they write all the code and then the carriers test and release it.

Just my luck...I finally decide to throw caution to the wind, and download the .216 beta update...and every link I find is dead.

Can somebody PM me with an active link...if that's not breaking the rules?
