Default Hide icons using IT Policy?

Please Login to Remove!

Is there a way to hide the icons a user sees on his/her BB using an IT Policy? Recently, Rogers now includes icons for both Yahoo Chat and Google Talk on their devices. I would like to be able to hide these from the user. I already have a policy to not allow the installation of 3rd party apps.

Thanks.

I would love to figure this one out too - I need to disable the personal email setup icon in my environment.

Not necessarily true...

How To - Prevent the new icons from appearing after upgrading to BlackBerry Internet Service 2.1

Granted, this will disable more than just hiding the icons... I would say that a complaint (and multiple times) to the carrier might help out more than complaining to RIM, as it's the carriers' decision to include or exclude these icons (T-Mobile, for example, doesn't push them down).

because they aren't installed in the first place. they are icons pushed through service books by the carriers to the handheld. extra icons cause some people to freak out or get confused (just look on here about the enterprise activation icon and consumer users). you can delete the service books in order to rid yourself of the icons, but they'll reappear on the next network registration or handheld reload or OS upgrade, etc.
