Default standby via the mute button on 4.5

Please Login to Remove!

with the new 4.5 OS when the phone is on standby and i push a keyboard button the screen comes on for a couple seconds telling me that the phone is indeed in standby.

I'm thinking that if the phone sits in my pocket that might happen quite often and drain some power.. is there a way to have it like it was with the old OS? (nothing happening at all until you push the mute button again)

Mine's not working right now, but I thought it only came on if you pressed the disconnect key.

edit:
I just checked and it's just the top row: call, options, undo, and disconnect. I'd prefer a way to stop this as well.

Wirelessly posted (T-Mobile 8120)

I haven't noticed a difference in battery life since switching from standby mode in the pocket to an OEM clip holster with the magnetic disabler.

yep you are right, the top row buttons (minus trackball) activate it. I looked at all option to stop this but couldn't find a way to do it.

On mine, standby frequently stops working entirely so this issue is moot. :D

So I am not the only one. I've noticed that this seems to be related to bluetooth.

Hey you know, I've been trying (sort of) to pay attention to see if I could put my finger on a common event that was causing this but I never realized it till you said it. That's definitely a pattern on mine...it frequently stops working just after I've turned on my headset.
