Default Sprint Gives (Erroneous) MMS Instructions on Website

Please Login to Remove!

Here are the instructions for sending an MMS on 8330 I got after searching for MMS on Sprint's website:

How do I send an MMS message on my BlackBerry® Curve 8330?

To send an MMS message, perform the following steps:

1. In a message list, press the Menu key.
2. Click Compose MMS.
3. Perform one of the following actions:

* If the contact is not in your address book, click [Use Once]. Click Email or Phone. Type an email address or an MMS phone number. Click the trackball.
* If the contact is in your address book, click a contact. Click an email address or MMS phone number.

4. Type a message.
5. Press the Menu key.
6. Click Send.

There is no "Compose MMS" on my 8330. Am I the only one or is this complete crap? All the posts I've read say that Sprint BBs don't have MMS. What's the deal?

I have Compose MMS on my 8320. Does the ability to send/receive MMS messages come with your cell plan? If not, that may be why it's not an option for you.

The thing is that you have T-Mobile and an 8320. I've read on multiple sites that Sprint doesn't support MMS for BBs.

Then that would explain why you do not have the option to Compose MMS on your device. If you're unsure I'd call Sprint and find out.

Ah, good point. Probably just some copy and paste someone did when they set up the website. I'm not sure why they wouldn't support MMS on a Blackberry, though. It seems like they'd be cutting themselves out of a section of the population.

Well there is a way to do mms its cool with me!

1. Go to pm.sprintpcs.com

2. Set up a picture mail account and picture mail email account.

3. Save that email account into your contact under MMS

4. Take a photo with
With resolution 480X640?

5. Send photo as email to mms

6. You will receive a text message saying you have picmail just forward that text to who you want to send picmail to...

Seems long but works pretty cool!

This was my original post in another thread. But yes it works like MMS as whenyou forward the email - you put the number of the person you want to receive the picture...works for all my pics I send out.

Jake,

Unfortunately, Sprint is behind the powerball on this one!!! You're right, it is crap that they would give instructions on their website on how to do something they don't support, but it is what it is....

Soon & very soon I hope it will be available, because it is very time consuming having to get my friends phone email address....
i.e. (8135551212@pm.sprint.com)

I searched & found it too....maybe it's Sprint's way of letting us know that it will ONE DAY FAR FAR AWAY be available....lol

Default Sprint now has MMS

If you don't see it on your phone, try restarting it. Otherwise, download service books. No time for more details but I am sure someone will be happy to provide more info.

This thread is way old, Sprint just released 4.5 which enabled MMS on Sprint Blackberry Curve 8330 and Pearl 8130 but some people are not able to send and Sprint is aware of the issue.
