Default Curve in your pocket?

Please Login to Remove!

For you curve owners, do you keep your curve in your pocket or have a bet holster. I am strongly considering the curve over pearl due to its full qwerty and awesome display. However, if it's going to be uncomfortable in my jeans, I will just get the pearl. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

How tight are your jeans? I wear pretty comfy, tight jeans and I can slip it in there when I forget my holster. Besides that it presses buttons, dials, opens apps in there so I rarely put it in there. I hate keylocking too so...

I don't see my curve without its homey holster though, it's like one can't be without the other.

I wouldn't advise carrying it in your pocket. The trackball tends to pick up lint and dirty and stop working when one does that. Also, it is more susceptible to damage, getting wet, falling out, etc.

I just use a belt holder because I hate having my pockets full. Or if I happen to be using my jacket one day it goes in my jacket pocket.

The Curve fits with the included sleeve cover comfortably with relaxed-fit jeans (if you have an iPod, it's pretty much the same thickness). The OEM clip holster is nice except I've noticed the handle of the clip can dig into your side depending where you wear it.

Wirelessly posted (8130 Curve)

I slip mine in my pocket all the time, but I do put it in standby before I do.

I carry mine in my pocket all the time with nothing but a screen protector. Sometimes the trackball gets a little funny but RIM's fix works every time. However, I do have my phone's keys locked. It is not uncomfortable in my pocket at all. Unlike my first phone (Motorola V330) which was almost an inch think. :-/

PS: RIM's fix it pushing in the trackball and rolling it in the direction it does not want to go.

Most that have carried in their pocket (including myself) will report that dust accumulates under the screen and quickly becomes objectionable.

Most owners seem to oppose pocketing their Curve, but for some it's doable. Depends largely on your pockets. You could also consider a case (there are many) that seals your device completely for while it's in your pocket. Stear clear of the skin cases though as they won't help you much.

Lastly, if you're a smoker then avoid pocketing it completely. Put your Curve in a pocket that's a had a pack of cigarettes in it and it'll come out covered into tobacco. ...happened to me.

I would never ever get a belt holster. I have a screen protector and put it in the Blackberry sleeve. I don't know about you guys, but I do not wear tight jeans, so having this in my pocket is not an issue for me. I've had both the Pearl and the Curve, and can't tell too much of a difference between the two. Go to a T-Mo store and put one of those display models in your pocket to test out.

It's really how you feel about being comfortable or uncomfortable with the phone in your pocket. During the week, my Curve is in it's holster (business attire) and on the weekends (basketball shorts mostly) it's holster free. I agree with the others however, dust can get under the screen and also you don't want to be that person that calls someone else because you forgot to lock your keys. I have been the lucky recipient of these types of calls before...

I use the slim leather holster to pocket my curve in crowded area. I would never use a belt holster with my curve in a club where moving 2 feet involve rubbing on 5 persons for exemple

I keep mine in my pocket and don't have any issues. Its comfortable for me with any type of pants that I wear. I think a belt holster would be too cumbersome for me, but that's just my opinion. I agree with p nut. Go the the store and test out which one works

Anyone know some good thin skin cases that are prone to lint? I am a student and will be keeping it in my pocket full time. I don't mind locking the keys all the time since I do it now with my SE w810i. I would NEVER wear a belt holster.

Also, how bad does the trackball get? Is it that easily breakable?

I use a belt holster out of habit--have been using them since I started carrying a BB. Whether you go belt or pocket, thank goodness for the Curve though--my first device was a Nextel 6510. It was about an inch thick at top of the unit so it couldn't go in your pocket, but on the belt clip the external antennae would stick in your side half the time when you sat down.

i dont put mine in my pocket i have a holster for it, i use to keep my phone in my pocket for years till i got a decent holder, i work in an area where i bump in to things and with it in my pocket it might be an issue, so in the holster it goes.
