Default Should I do anything more than "wipe" before re-selling bberry?

Please Login to Remove!

Hey...
I've got a 7130e that I'm gonna sell on eBay. I've done a "wipe handheld". Is that enough? or do I need to do a lower level (javaloader, other) wipe?
Can someone help with with what steps I should take to get the unit ready to re-sell? Obviously, I'm trying to remove all traces of my info and prep it for someone else.

Thanks!

And remove your PIN from the BIS site... one of the most often asked used BB device questions "My BB is already registered to someone else..."

good luck

If you are not replacing with another BB, call the carrier to cancel your BIS account. This will release the PIN and IMEI so the buyer can set up their BIS email.

JSanders, you bring up an interesting point, I presume it's been dealt with elsewhere but, this does not necesssarily mean your device IS registered with another provider.

This same error is also seen when a device has failed to connect/register with the relay, until this point the device is basically unprovisioned with RIM and until it has been, this error will be seen when trying to register the PIN for BIS.

cheers

edit - to Dubdub's point, entering "0" in both PIN and IMEI fields on the web self serve for your carrier should do the same.

Why is everyone so averse to picking up the phone, dropping the dime and talking to the CSR? Are we so techie now that we are afraid to talk to a human? But then maybe I am old fashioned.

It's the fear of spending an hour on the phone with someone who may know less than you. :D

For myself, I'm on FIDO, and they don't sell blackberry devices, only Rogers. So, their tech support would not help me if I had problems. I would need to turn to you guys!
