Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys I am currently with sprint and I have the Sero 1250 min plan with m2m,data, and nights starting at 7 for 49.99. I wanted to know if AT&T offers a plan close to that one and how muc? I am also a fed ex empolyee. How much is the company's discount?

Have you considered calling Cingular? Checking their website? This site is an authority on Blackberry products...not so much about carriers and their rate plans.

And there's no way for us to know if your company has a corporate discount with them.

Finally, make sure Cingular works where you need it to. Switching carriers for a device is silly, and not worth it if it doesn't work where you need it to.

Aren't you the one who's been cracking on about how Sprint will be the first to carry the 8300? I suppose your "reliable" source is falling into some doubt...

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7130/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

All indicators point to an at&t rollout of the 8300. The first carrier to offer the device in the USA.

Followed by another unnamed carrier within an unspecified time.

How is that for specific info ?

This can't be emphasized enough. Check on real world coverage first. Don't rely on coverage maps or the claims of fanboys.

If you still do not think that AT&T is getting the 8300 first, you are living in a world of DENIAL!

Were you not saying that you knew for sure that Sprint was getting it?

Read these forums, there is alot of crap here but one thing that keeps poping up is that AT&T/CINGULAR has raised the bar again!

Sorry for such a numb-brained question, but is there a particular way to check out areas where you'll be to check for the coverage you're looking for? Because I'm with Nextel and am headstrong on leaving for two reasons, because I want a different BB (the 8300) and I'd like to switch carriers.

So, I'd to be sure that I'm not going to be hopping in and out of service/coverage before I switch, which is a very sound idea. Though, I'll admit, I just want the 8300 and really wouldn't have check coverage unless it was urged so much above. Thanks for that.

Take advantage of the carriers return period. Most will give you 15 days to use the phone and if not satisfied, return it for a full refund with no ETF. READ this conditions carefully as they can vary from one carrier to another.

Use the phone in all the areas you will expect to need a cell phone. This is important as I tried T-Mo and their map said I had excellent service at both my home and office which are only 5 miles apart. The map clearly showed excellent and yet I had to go out side to get reception in either. My Blackberry would remain silent till I walked outside and then get 10-15 emails and 4 missed calls. Cingular only showed good but I get full bars and have not had a single dropped call in months! Go figure.

Just test and see and do not believe the maps the carrier show you. Keep you phone past the trial period and you will owe the ETF to leave.

Thanks Greg, will do.

Seeing as Cing./att will be getting it first, this will be the only other carrier I will have been with other than nextel. I'm hoping to goodness, for my sake and the phones sake that I'll not have an issue with spotty or no coverage when it comes to work and the likes. We shall see, thanks a lot for pointing out that return period. I'll be sure to keep that in mind even though I'll be overjoyed holding the 8300!

These two posts above, are some of the best free advise anywhere, the importance of which cannot be overstated.

If you want to have an enjoyable experience, you must first have proper wireless coverage.
The device is secondary as it's only as good as the signal it's fed.

Cheers...

Imagine the signal strength is shabby and I've to wait even longer for a DIFFERENT carrier to get the curve on board!!!! I'd give the hell up! or deal with shabby service! hahahah

You would have to call ATT to see what plans they can do comparible to this, but yes, as with sprint/nextel most large corporations do get discounts off voice plans with ATT as well. In your case as a fedex employee you do. Specific details can be obtained from the ATT/Cingular website or by calling them.

You could just stay with Sprint since Sprint is the first carrier to release 8300.

Why use the EVDO vs. EDGE excuse... your truly pathetic.

Enough! Let's not get so wound up.

This is a friendly courteous forum, there is _no reason_ for this type of approach.

Just let it go.....
