That is absolutely appalling customer service; that is the sort of stuff that makes it into business seminars and books about how not to do things, and about why companies have problems.

The regional manager's direct line is NOT a CSR number. Its like calling an NBA player to buy tickets to the game. Of course he's gonna be pissed, and has every right to be.

on another note that IS comical that someone would call him. Shows him the EXTREME desire for the release of the BB. Maybe w/ friends in high places he can get the ball rolling. who knows

Good observation on the strong desire for the new BB that was indicated by this person's persistance.

I still believe that the regional mgr acted poorly in this instance; regardless of his position, everyone in a company is accountable to their customers; everyone in the company is a representative to the customers. The RM could have handled it with humor and tact, in such a way as to make the customer feel very good about the company. Instead, he just acted like another insulated, out of touch executive.

Now i got a valid reason to stick with my 8100

Guys, its not that big of a deal. I just called him asking about the new BB because we've hung out a few times with friends, and he seemed like a nice guy at the time and shared some BB 8700 information with me back then, about a month or so before 8700 came out on T-Mobile.

Of course, it seemed like he just did not remember me. But from a businessman point of view, had it been me, I would have handled it quite differently.

Anyways, I TRIED. Sorry guys, couldn't get anything out of him.

wow. he is a jerk. even if had not remembered a guy i met, if he says we met, i must have liked him enough to give him my #/bus. card. OR i would be a douche that thinks giving out bus. cards makes me look cool. The way I assumed it was just some random call to a personal line. perspective eh.

In any case this freaking phone needs to at least get ANNOUNCED so we have specs to talk about rather than stalker calls. haha j/k

Wow! (Insert any potty joke with a BB reference here. I'm thinking something with dingle and berry in it.)

Sorry, couldn't resist.

You should post his number so we can all call him and inquire about the 8300.

Any "regional manager" worth anything should know how to react to this.

Maybe he wasn't the right person to call, maybe he was; that's irrelevant. His concern as a manager should be to protect the brand. From this experience, he clearly has diminished the brand somewhat in the eyes of at least one customer. Who knows how far that could spread from here.

I totally agree with you, he could have simply laughed it off, he did not have to be so rude
