Hi,

I have had my BB for years and used an earthlink account for my BB inbox. I just opened a second mailbox for a gmail account (I will be soon turning off my earthlink account - I am only keeping it open for a while until I am sure all of my friends change my email address.)

Anyway, since I added the gmail inbox, all of my SMS's are still going to my original (earthlink) BB inbox. Is there a way I can start getting the SMS's on my gmail BB inbox or will I always have to have two inboxes on my BB (which is a pain as I can only fit 5 links on my front screen).

SMS usually goes to the primary email address. Deleting it and setting up the other should do it. It is set up via the BIS server is it not?

yes - I use BIS.
Right now I have two emails set up on BIS. The first on the list is the earthlink and the second is the gmail. Which one should I delete?

The one you are dumping. The first is the Earthlink based on your post so deleting it will leave you with only the one. What I am curious about is where is the primary email setup usually given with a new blackberry? If Earthlink is it you may have to look at your account with Verizon to be sure it wonxxx8217;t cause an issue using just a Gmail account. I know I have to have an email address provided by ATT as the primary but Ixxx8217;m not sure how Verizon does this.

I am going to check with Verizon. Do you think it may be as easy as forwarding my gmail to the verizon account?

I've never seen sms's go to a dedicated email inbox. SMS always goes to the SMS inbox or the main Messages folder. Are you sure the sms's aren't going to the "Messages" folder?

You don't need a vzw bis account for a vzw bb.

Thanks Zerog. That's also true. A vzw (or other carrier) email address is not required on any BB.

You can have all your email, SMS, and MMS messages go to your main Messages app and just stick all the email specific icons in a folder. Open your main Messages icon, click on Menu/Options/Inbox Settings and click on all the email and other message types you want to appear in your Messages. Also, I believe that SMS go to the phone number and not an email account.

I got it. I have an older bb so I had to go to the message>menu>email reconciliation> and then switch the account for the message box to my gmail account. So now I get my Gmail, text and VM all in my inbox, but my earthlinks in a second inbox. This is great. Thanks
