Default Storm 9530 latest firmware update 4.7.0.75

Please Login to Remove!

Well, I loaded the latest firmware update for the Blackberry Storm 9530
(v4.7.0.75). Thanks DonNyugen!!!

I also formatted the 8GB memory card. It's still very choppy and laaaaaaggggggy when rotating or navigating between menu's ect.

On the plus side, the BrickBreaker game is pretty cool and is not slow or laggy. Cheers to the game group who put time into this feature.

You slide your finger to move around; no more scroll wheel or roller ball. Almost too easy now, kinda feels like I'm cheating at the game. LOL

Verizon still needs to release more updates. At least I can say one thing about this last update; my Storm hasn't crashed or locked up on me, "yet". Before the update, it would crash quite frequently, especially if I was using the camera or video camera function. So this is at least a step in the right direction.

Did you do a battery pull after the update? It fixes most of that. My Storm has been much snappier since going to .75

Is a battery pull literally just taking out the battery and plugging it back it and letting the storm reboot? I installed .75 last night and the accelerometer is better but nothing like the video on crackberry showed.

Yes, that is all a battery pull reboot consists of ... leave the device powered on, remove the battery half a minute and reinsert. Let it sit about 5 minutes after reboot to calm down all the data activity and you should see better results.

(1) Comparing (65) with (75): I am having a very tough time with news feeds using
the newer (75): Reuters: cannot look at videos; AP & WSJ - scroll locks up, hard.
Hopefully the move from (65) to (75) somehow incidentally broke my experiences
with these feeds and Verizon has not gotten cold feet and clamped down on
surfing for multimedia (a security issue, I am sure) !

(2) My iPOD music is under Windows Vista Business - the Desktop Manager is very
buggy. When I try to use the Media Manager to copy this music to my Storm, it
crashes every time. I think it needs Roxio, but I am clueless. My XP, SP-3
installation of Desktop Manager is clearly in much better shape, but my iPOD music
is not there.

(3) I am getting spectacular results looking at scrolling pdf files of nuclear oil well
logs (zoom, pan, scroll). Will we always need to play email games with such files ?
(Some of this data is quite proprietary and I would prefer if the Storm could crack
such files directly.)

(4) Verizon Navigator is the MAX ! Please don't add WiFi, if security is compromised,
even a little.

(Forgot to mention, I traded in my 8830 for a new Storm.)
